TEAMING:

Our administrator is an active member of our T.E.A.M. and is dedicated to the PBS philosophy. All members are active and attend meetings regularly. The team maintains a professional attitude and generally comes to consensus easily.

We look at our data monthly (if not more often) and have used it to decide to implement the secondary level training so we can target our middle of the triangle students. We share SWIS data at each monthly faculty meeting.

PBS information is shared with faculty and staff via regular emails, newsletters, mailbox flyers, announcements (news & intercom), faculty meetings and staff development sessions.

The overall strength of the team is the team’s commitment! Everyone is there and believes in what we are doing and that trickles down to the rest of the school TEAM.

IMPLEMENTATION:

Our school is very Data driven and makes decisions based on the data. This is definitely our area of strength. We use data for both academic and behavior (Clearview and SWIS) decisions. Our individual tokens are given out at a consistent level that is recognized in our weekly drawing on our CCTV.

OUTCOMES:
Since implementation there has been a decrease in office referrals and data based decision making. Although we have had an increase in ODR’s this year were able to determine that it is not a school wide issue but a targeted group issue. We have attended the secondary training and plan to implement next school year.

OBSTACLES:
Our school has had a change in demographics, which has had an increase in behavior issues at the lower grade levels. We are currently working on a plan to include more social skills training and target the population of students with increased ODR’s.
