TRAINING
To request training, you must have the acknowledgement and support of the local school district.   Requirements for accessing assistance from this Project include a willingness to work with the Project staff to:

  • Build local capacity
  • Employ comprehensive, proactive intervention approaches, and
  • Promote collaboration with families and outside agencies

School-wide
To access training in School-wide PBS (SWPBS), the District Leadership Team must first complete the District Readiness Checklist. Once completed, including the facilitation of a District Action Planning Process by Project staff, individual schools will need to complete and submit the School Readiness Checklist. Schools may not participate in SWPBS Training until their district has met the requirements as stated on the District Readiness Checklist and the school has completed the School Readiness Checklist within the specified time period. New team members who did not complete the 3-day on-site training may register to complete the on-line Blackboard modules.

Booster
A “Booster” Training involves reviewing the critical elements, establishing clear implementation goals to improve School-wide outcomes, and motivating teams who may have lost their focus. The objective is to increase the school’s effectiveness in implementing the PBS process. School teams may not access this training until they have completed and met the criteria as stated on the Booster Readiness Checklist.

Classroom
The Classroom Training is designed for schools that are implementing SWPBS with fidelity and their data have indicated a need to move into classrooms. Before a school team can receive Classroom Training, they must first complete the Next Step Decision Module (on-line). Please refer to the Classroom Training Protocol for more information.

Targeted Group
The Targeted Group Training is designed for schools that are implementing SWPBS with fidelity and their data have indicated a need to move into addressing a targeted group of students. Before a school team can receive Targeted Group Training, they must first complete the Next Step Decision Module (on-line). Please refer to the Targeted Group Training Protocol for more information.

Individual Student
The Individual Student Training is designed for schools that are implementing SWPBS with fidelity and their data have indicated a need to move into addressing individual students exhibiting high rates of behavior. Before a school team can receive Individual Student Training, they must first complete the Next Step Decision Module (on-line). For schools that have not completed the SWPBS Training, they may complete the on-line Blackboard modules. Following completion, the school team may then request technical assistance from the Project.
