TEAMING:

~ The team works well together due to their diverse experiences and fresh ideas that are brought to the group. The principal and assistant principal are active, significant members of the group.

The team makes data based decisions on a daily basis. SWIS data is reviewed at every meeting and changes or improvements to programming are considered. An example for this year, the data was reviewed and the cafeteria was having some issues and Mrs. Donovan implemented a buddy system during lunch. Our 5th graders are eating with Kindergarteners and having the opportunity to show and practice responsibility (one of our expectations)

We are presenting the SWIS data at each monthly faculty meeting. The strength of our team is the teams firm commitment to the success of SW-PBS. The school has seen a remarkable decrease in office referrals since implementing SW-PBS and has a strong buy in with the faculty and staff.

IMPLEMENTATION:

~The reward system is strong and well established, along with how the schools expectations are taught. The expectations are taught on a rotation during the first 3 days of school and again midyear. As a new member seeing how the team uses data to makes decisions is very exciting. It has been a part of every interaction I have had concerning behaviors and PBS!

OUTCOMES:

~There has been a dramatic decrease in office referrals. Many interventions are implemented and used across campus. The staff morale appears very positive and school is a fun place to be!

  OBSTACLES:

~Including parents more has been an obstacle- we have included PBS questions on our parent survey that the School Advisory Committee (SAC) does each year. We are also including a data review during monthly faculty meetings.
