TEAMING:
What makes your team work so well?  Please discuss in detail (e.g., what is your administrator’s role on the team, how is staff represented, etc.)? Communication is first and foremost the number one reason why things have progressed and things are coming together so well.  Other reasons include a shared mission, more focused, their willingness to try new things.  In the past this team would get sidetracked by individual students and would get off track.  The use of an agenda with a timekeeper has helped the team focus on the issues at hand.

How does your team use data to make decisions on campus? At the PBS meetings, all the SWIS graphs are utilized to determine what boosters need to be scheduled and to measure progress.  Group data is analyzed and discussed, time of day, and individual student data is analyzed.

How do you share information with the rest of your faculty (e.g., emails, newsletters, meetings, etc.)?  How often do you share this informationThere have been three faculty meetings and SWIS data was shared at each one.  E-mails have become essential as meeting time has decreased over the years.  Data is also sent home to the parents through the newsletter discussing the PBS results.

What do you see as the overall strengths of your team?  Please provide details. Overall strength has to be the ability to openly communicate.  In the first few years, not everyone felt comfortable expressing their true feelings with the administrator present.  There is a great willingness from the team members to pitch in and share the load of the duties required to make the program run effectively.

IMPLEMENTATION:

In what areas of PBS does your team excel (e.g., rewarding students/staff, teaching expectations, data-based decision-making, etc.)?  Please provide details below. Great group activity contingent on both ODR data and academic issues-Pride of the Tribe.

OUTCOMES:

Discuss the changes you have seen on campus since PBS implementation (e.g., data, climate, morale, etc.).  Teachers and students are utilizing the tickets in recognizing and purchasing items from the tribal store.  The office is not full of students and administrators are getting into classrooms much more.  This school has had a history of needing to involve resource officers due to parent or student problems and that has happened only once this year.  Their reputation in the community has improved, especially with the Hibiscus Children’s Village across the street.

OBSTACLES:

What are some obstacles that your team has had to overcome?  Please explain the process for overcoming these hurdles below. Time is the biggest obstacle.  Not enough time to plan, meet, organize, and execute the plan.  Another obstacle is that the team leader lost his ability to lead and the team faltered a bit.  The team began meeting on their own without the team leader.
