TEAMING:

What makes your team work so well?  Please discuss in detail (e.g., what is your administrator’s role on the team, how is staff represented, etc.)? Administrator allows the team to be fairly independent, so the team feels more empowered.  The team is quite large and represents a good cross section of the staff.  Team members take responsibility, and attend meetings regularly.  Team objectives are split between committee members. 

How does your team use data to make decisions on campus? Data is inputted on a regular basis.  The data is used to target behaviors that need to be redefined, and develop strategies to modify these behaviors.

How do you share information with the rest of your faculty (e.g., emails, newsletters, meetings, etc.)?  How often do you share this information? Program is infused throughout the school.  Information is shared during discipline workshops, calendar announcement, bi-weekly meetings, and morning announcements.

What do you see as the overall strengths of your team?  Please provide details.

  • Team members take ownership of the success of the program.
  • Great involvement
  • Everyone works together toward common goals
  • Sub-groups focus on specific objectives.

 

 
IMPLEMENTATION:

In what areas of PBS does your team excel (e.g., rewarding students/staff, teaching expectations, data-based decision-making, etc.)?  Please provide details below.

  • Strong reinforcement/reward program
  • Buy-In from the students is good.
  • Visibility of the program
  • Weekly field trips
  • Bulletin Boards
  • Newsletters

OUTCOMES:

Discuss the changes you have seen on campus since PBS implementation (e.g., data, climate, morale, etc.).Students moving up on the level system

  • Decrease in walk-outs and fights
  • Employee Morale is high
  • Team membership and participation has increased
 
OBSTACLES:
  • Some members do not attend regularly.
  • Some challenges with buy-in with some faculty.
  • Some challenges with buy-in from some students as well.
  • Inability to follow through with some plans
  • Older students.
