TEAMING:

What makes your team work so well?  Please discuss in detail (e.g., what is your administrator’s role on the team, how is staff represented, etc.)?  We have diverse staff representation (primary & upper grades, ESE, administration, Sp.Area teachers,School Psych, Reading Coach). Bright and dedicated team who respect other opinions) Administrators are very involved and supportive! Our Coach is a great influence too!

How does your team use data to make decisions on campus? We provide interventions and reinforcements when data indicates the need to support students and staff.

How do you share information with the rest of your faculty (e.g., emails, newsletters, meetings, etc.)?  How often do you share this information? At our faculty meetings (once or twice a month).

What do you see as the overall strengths of your team?  Please provide details.  Very intelligent and professional, coupled with a strong work ethic among all of our PBS Core Team Members. Members simply volunteer to coordinate new initiatives, as opposed to delegating assignments or responsibilities.

IMPLEMENTATION:

In what areas of PBS does your team excel (e.g., rewarding students/staff, teaching expectations, data-based decision-making, etc.)?  Please provide details below.  We reward students on a daily basis. We have SOAR Store to exchange tickets (earned for positive behavior)  for rewards once a week. We recognize staff twice a month for their positive efforts and support. We have “Mega Bash” activities each semester for students and have a PBS Ship Cruise for staff at the beginning of each year to kick off our PBS program.

OUTCOMES:

Discuss the changes you have seen on campus since PBS implementation (e.g., data, climate, morale, etc.). All of our staff is now on board with recognizing and rewarding positive behavior. This includes all teachers, cafeteria staff, custodians, bus drivers, administrators, secretaries, and all other support staff.

OBSTACLES:

What are some obstacles that your team has had to overcome?  Please explain the process for overcoming these hurdles below. Getting buy in from our entire school staff. We created a positive, safe and enjoyable work place for students and staff and parents. This was created by supporting each other, modeling a positive and respectful interaction with our students, and dealing with each student as our own student.
