TEAMING:

What makes your team work so well?  Please discuss in detail (e.g., what is your administrator’s role on the team, how is staff represented, etc.)? Our team works well because we have active team members from every area of our school.  Our administration is active in all meetings.  They encourage team members, offer opinions, and suggestions as well as clarification of data.

How does your team use data to make decisions on campus? We check data for areas that may have recurring problems.  Was an area or problem has been identified our team works to find an action plan that will help solve the problem.

How do you share information with the rest of your faculty (e.g., emails, newsletters, meetings, etc.)?  How often do you share this information? PBS information is shared during monthly grade level meetings, staff meetings emails and print outs, at least once a month, but occasionally more often.

What do you see as the overall strengths of your team?  Please provide details.  Our team truly believes in PBS and therefore presents a positive outlook to others.

IMPLEMENTATION:

In what areas of PBS does your team excel (e.g., rewarding students/staff, teaching expectations, data-based decision-making, etc.)?  Please provide details below. PSE definitely excels at teaching and reteaching expectations and rewarding students and staff.  Staff and students are trained and retrained at the beginning of each semester.  Students are rewarded with “Pioneer Bucks” to use in the general store.  Students can earn an invitation to the POWER breakfast.  Students are also rewarded for being at school on time, as well as various certificates and coupons from local businesses.

OUTCOMES:

Discuss the changes you have seen on campus since PBS implementation (e.g., data, climate, morale, etc.). Office referrals have steadily declined.  Student and staff morale has improved.  Students are more caring about their academics, each other and school appearance.

OBSTACLES:

What are some obstacles that your team has had to overcome?  Please explain the process for overcoming these hurdles below. Staff buy in was our biggest obstacle to overcome.  Recruiting positive team members from every area of our school has been our biggest asset.
