TEAMING:

What makes your team work so well?  Please discuss in detail (e.g., what is your administrator’s role on the team, how is staff represented, etc.)? Everyone including our Administration is committed to making our school a place where our students can achieve emotional, social and academic success.  Team leaders represent their teams at the meetings and they are a liaison between the team and the faculty.

How does your team use data to make decisions on campus?  The PBS team uses the SWIS data to identify problem behavior and locations.  It helps us identify locations where staff is needed.

How do you share information with the rest of your faculty (e.g., emails, newsletters, meetings, etc.)?  How often do you share this information? Information is shared via faculty meetings, PBS Agenda, team meetings, PTSA meetings and emails.

What do you see as the overall strengths of your team?  Please provide details.  Our team is cooperative, dedicated, positive and they are always willing to help.  Our team leaders assist in taking information back to their team members.  Every team does their part to assure that PBS is taking place.  From field trips to movie days to perfect attendance field trips, all teams take part in PBS activities.

IMPLEMENTATION:
In what areas of PBS does your team excel (e.g., rewarding students/staff, teaching expectations, data-based decision-making, etc.)?  Please provide details below.  Our team has excelled in expectations.  Every year we revisit our Behavior Incident Log.  We take a look at data from the previous year, through SWIS, and we identify areas where we can adjust the log to our needs.

OUTCOMES:

Discuss the changes you have seen on campus since PBS implementation (e.g., data, climate, morale, etc.).  The overall climate of the school has changed.  Data has become a focal point and has been used to make disciplinary decisions.  Progressive discipline has become visible and is being used.

OBSTACLES:

What are some obstacles that your team has had to overcome?  Please explain the process for overcoming these hurdles below. One of the most difficult obstacles has become teacher buy-in.  One way that the team has overcome this obstacle is by getting teachers to join the PBS team.  Administrators have also helped by modeling PBS.  They have used “Spot Success” throughout the year.  Another way this obstacle has been overcome has been persistency, we have remained a PBS school and have not abandoned this venture.
