| TEAMING: |
What makes your team work so well? Please discuss in detail (e.g., what is your administrator’s role on the team, how is staff represented, etc.)? We have 100% support from our administration and team. All members, including our administrator, have been trained in PBS. We have representation on our team from our classroom teachers, Principal, special area teachers, guidance, cafeteria manager and tech support. The benefits seen on campus keep us motivated toward our goal.
How does your team use data to make decisions on campus? Data is reviewed monthly and proactive strategies are put in place to reduce areas that have needs.
How do you share information with the rest of your faculty (e.g., emails, newsletters, meetings, etc.)? How often do you share this information? We share the information at pep rallies, faculty meetings, emails, and staff trainings. This information is shared on a regular basis (at least monthly).
What do you see as the overall strengths of your team? Please provide details. As a group who enjoys working together, our strengths include teamwork, commitment and cohesiveness. We use the problem solving model to resolve differences and divide up tasks to accomplish items in a timely manner. We work together to make a difference in the lives of our students and staff on campus. We lead by example with a positive attitude. Outsiders to our campus have commented on how happy our students are and how excited they are to be at school. We use our discipline plan to reduce the inappropriate behaviors at school before they become major infractions. |

| IMPLEMENTATION: |
In what areas of PBS does your team excel (e.g., rewarding students/staff, teaching expectations, data-based decision-making, etc.)? Please provide details below.
We excel by rewarding our students and staff in creative ways. We have drawings on a regular basis where students can choose a prize or a special event to attend. Our staff is also included in drawings for gift cards and other prizes. Our teaching of expectations and rules are used school-wide and are reviewed as needed throughout the year. Students are aware of the rules and know the consequences if they are not followed. We base our decisions about behavior strategies from data. For example, we implemented a bus incentive program to decrease the number of bus referrals. We saw positive results from the students and bus drivers.
|
| OUTCOMES: |
Discuss the changes you have seen on campus since PBS implementation (e.g., data, climate, morale, etc.). The number of major discipline referrals has decreased. Our staff morale and school culture has moved in a positive direction. There is a noticeable difference in students having “natural consequences” from the choices they make, good and bad. |

| OBSTACLES: |
What are some obstacles that your team has had to overcome? Please explain the process for overcoming these hurdles below. Time to work and plan as a team is always a challenge. We have found that some teachers have had to sacrifice their planning time, while others have needed coverage in order to attend. Funding to keep the program running is an obstacle that we have tried to overcome by having “Popcorn Friday’s,” “Uniform Free Day’s,” “Holiday Candy Cane Shoppe” and a multitude of other fundraising projects. |
